Henry's 8th birthday and Gotcha day

01/22/2018

Today is Henry's 8th birthday as well as his 6th "gotcha day." After losing our chocolate labrador Woody, we had a dog shaped void in our lives, particularly Lily who was used to having a friend around. I had been aware of the Labrador Rescue North West for a while, so I contacted them to see if they could offer us any help. After completing the necessary paperwork and homecheck, the wonderful Glenys invited us along to meet a young labrador. She informed us that he was very loveable, somewhat strong, a little overweight and would need a little behaviour training. As we stood in the yard, a large white dog came bounding towards my Mum, knocked her over and then headed towards Lily. Watching Lily and Henry play together in the yard, I knew he was for us and on 22nd January 2012 he went through the happy gate. Later that day, whilst updating his chip information, we learnt that 22nd January was also his birthday so it is a double celebration for us.

We've had lots of muddy walks this week, clocking up another 38.21 miles, making our total 118.05 miles since 1st January 2018. I am hoping to set up a fundraising page in the coming months to support the wonderful Labrador Rescue North West and all the fantastic work that they do, all donations will be greatly received.
